Debit interchange court drama continues in U.S.

The Federal Reserve announced its plans to appeal the court's July 31 ruling on debit interchange that sided with merchants in their lawsuit against the Fed. Read the related press release from the National Retail Federation (NRF).

Then, in a surprising move, the Fed and merchants together asked the court to stay the July 31 ruling pending appeal.

Update: Judge Leon decided to stay his July 31 decision, which is what the Fed and merchants jointly requested.
