Judge stays his July 31 decision regarding debit interchange lawsuit

In the case involving the Federal Reserve and debit interchange in the U.S. (NACS vs. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, U.S. District Court, District of Columbia), Judge Leon decided to stay his July 31 decision pending the outcome of the Fed's appeal. This is what the Fed and merchants jointly requested in August. As a result, the regulated debit interchange rates that became effective in October 2011 will remain for now.
