“Commercial Card Controls: Finding a Balance Between Control and
Usability at the Point of Sale” reflects insight from Amy Hoke, Director,
Commercial and Enterprise Payments Advisory Service. The paper includes
insights from 2013 Mercator/NAPCP survey collaboration.
Also included is an overview of card controls, insights for
designing control profiles, and evaluation of effectiveness of Card
Controls. The paper explores what degree of card control is necessary.
Mercator’s advice to organizations is: Loosen up on your commercial card
controls and trust your employees—but monitor what they spend.
