Samsung announced on March 1 that it would be launching its Samsung Pay service this summer in the U.S. and South Korea.

Samsung Pay will allow Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone users to make mobile payments from their devices. Samsung has partnered with payment networks American Express, MasterCard and Visa, as well as issuers Bank of America, Chase, Citi and U.S. Bank.

After the launch in the U.S. and South Korea, Samsung Pay is expected to expand into China and Europe.

First Annapolis Consulting recently issued an overview of Samsung Pay. First Annapolis also released a comparison of Samsung Pay and Apple Pay, which launched in October.
