European Commission Intends to Exempt Corporate Cards from PSD2

On 31 May 2017, the European Banking Authority (EBA) released a letter that was sent from the European Commission (EC) that states intent to amend the current Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) published under Article 98(4) of the revised PSD2.

One of the intended changes is new exemptions to strong customer authentication for corporate payment processes. The intended changes come from months of lobbying from payment and travel industry representatives who state that the original RTS draft was "unworkable".

The EBA has until July 2017 to accept or reject the EC's intended amendments.
