Obama signs financial regulation bill

On July 21, President Obama signed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (H.R. 4173), formerly known as the Restoring American Financial Stability Act.

Sections of the Act pertain to the card industry, including interchange regulation for debit card transactions and limitations on card network restrictions (pertaining to merchant rules for credit card acceptance).
