TIPRA delayed another year

Tuesday, June 14, 2011   (0 Comments)

In case you missed it…

In May, the IRS released final regulations related to the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act (TIPRA) and the corresponding IRC section 3402(t). Aligning with the IRS Notice 2010-91 (December 2010), card payments are listed as one of the exceptions. Therefore, TIPRA applies to non-card payments only.

One notable change resulting from the final regulations is that the effective date has been delayed another year, now applying to payments occurring after December 31, 2012.

Members, review background on TIPRA and/or a summary of the 1099 reporting changes that began in 2011.
