Fed releases lists of institutions subject to and exempt from debit interchange standards

Friday, July 15, 2011   (0 Comments)

On July 12, the Federal Reserve Board (FRB) released the lists to facilitate compliance with Regulation II, which implements provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The statute related to debit interchange standards, which were finalized June 29 (refer to the related news item), exempts any issuers with less than $10 billion in assets. There are currently 14,842 institutions that are exempt and 572 that are subject to the standards.

The lists, available on the Federal Reserve website, will be updated annually.
