Clare Colman, Head of Financial Services, Business Support Centre, Leeds City Council, Leeds, United Kingdom

As a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA), Clare Colman has over 20 years’ experience across finance and internal audit within local government. She has supported service areas in education, adult social care, highways and transportation, and has also had a strategic role in the budget setting and year-end accounts processes. Clare has brought all of this experience to her role of head of financial services within the Business Support Centre, with a focus on optimizing the Accounts Payable, Purchasing Cards and Payroll processes. She leads a Purchasing Card programme with in excess of 900 card holders and expenditure in excess of £30m. Work is now taking place to grow the programme to £100m through a planned supplier engagement process.



Caroline Knibb, B2B Operational Lead, BP PLC
 
Caroline commenced her role as the EMEA Purchase to Pay Operations Lead for BP PLC in 2009 with particular focus on payment mechanisms for indirect spend which included a business to business payment programme. She has successfully deployed a number of card products and payment processes within the UK with continuing programme management responsibility.


James Lee, Business Development, Barclaycard Global Commercial Payments
James joined Barclaycard in 2009 as a sales manager, working with medium and large
 
corporates; providing and implementing Corporate Card and Purchasing Card programmes. James spent two years managing the sales effort for Barclaycard before moving into the business development role. He is now tasked with working with key suppliers and technology providers to expand the Commercial Card payment ecosystem in the UK and Europe.


Jessica Long, P2P Specialist, BP PLC


 

Jessica graduated from University of Birmingham with First-Class honours in BSc Business Management. She joined BP’s Global Indirect Procurement organization in 2014, working on Commercial Card analytics. Since 2015, she has assumed responsibility for the deployment of the B2B Commercial Card programme in EMEA.


Mike McCarthy, Channel Manager, EMEA, Fraedom
 
Mike is responsible for delivering Fraedom’s strategy of Payments, Expense and Travel for its white label partners in the EMEA region, including development of the partnership with Lloyds. Mike has extensive experience in the payments and expense industry. Prior to joining Fraedom, he worked as business development director for Inlogik and worked as a senior sales manager at HSBC working on various client initiatives related to card payments and data management solutions. Mike graduated with an LLB in English Law, specializing in Banking and Company law, and holds a Diploma in Financial Management from the ACCA.



Richard Palmer, Ph.D., CPA, President, RPMG Research Corporation & Professor and Copper Dome Faculty Research Fellow, Southeast Missouri State University


Richard is a frequent speaker at Commercial Card user conferences and the author of over 60 professional and academic publications, including award-winning articles about industry use of e-procurement and Commercial Card products. Richard’s Commercial Card research has been quoted in U.S. Senate hearings, The Wall Street Journal, ABC News Good Morning America, Business Week, CNN Money, CBS News MarketWatch, and American Banker, among many others. His most notable contribution to the Commercial Card world is as the co-creator (with Mahendra Gupta of Washington University in St. Louis) of the Purchasing Card, Corporate Travel Card and “Virtual Card” card benchmark surveys, efforts that have included every major card issuer and over 10,000 Commercial Card-using organizations since 1998.
