CPCP Supporting Documentation for Recertification Points

Supporting Documentation Requirements

This page is intended for current CPCPs who are pursuing the points method for recertification and need to know how to document their point-eligible endeavors.

Overview of Supporting Documentation

Obtain and retain documentation of each potential point-qualifying activity occurring during your three-year certification period

Copies of the supporting documentation will need to be collectively submitted to the NAPCP in conjunction with your recertification application process (for the points method only).

Tip: Within your NAPCP profile (Manage Profile option), scroll down to access your NAPCP event registrations. Click on the event name to review more information and/or print a copy of your receipt.

Supporting Documentation

Note: It is not enough to simply provide a letter from your manager to document all earned points. You need separate documentation, per the guidelines below, for each point-eligible endeavor.
Point Category Requirements
Work Experience

P-Card and other applicable work experience should be documented on employer letterhead and signed by a management member; view a sample letter.

College Degree  A legible photocopy of your degree including the type of degree and the institution from which is was obtained or a copy of your transcripts (student copy is fine) listing your degree.
Qualifying Certifications

Applicable professional certifications earned or renewed during the three-year certification period should be supported by a letter of certification or a copy of the certificate.

Certifications earned or renewed outside your CPCP certification period do not qualify.

Professional Development and Continuing Education Proof of attendance is required; only a registered participant is eligible for points. Supporting documentation for an event/educational activity should reflect:
  • your name
  • title/name of the activity/event and the sponsoring/host organization
  • description of the activity/event (especially if title/name is not self-explanatory)
  • date(s) and duration of the qualifying content (versus duration of entire event/endeavor)
Industry Participation

  • letter or e-mail from the sponsoring/host organization, specifying the type and/or scope of your participation
  • copy of event program reflecting your participation
  • copy of published content crediting you as an author
