Overview of Eligibility Requirements and Application Process

Begin by reading the Handbook for Candidates, which is a required first step. Also review the Code of Ethics.

Minimum requirements: To apply to take the exam (offered three times annually), you need a minimum:

  • two years of Commercial Card (e.g., P-Card) work experience (end-user or provider) and
  • 15 points; view point-eligible endeavors (work experience counts toward the points)

The application process requires:

  • completed application – save this PDF to your computer; when ready, open, complete electronically and then print
  • completed application supplement (only if you are claiming points for industry participation and/or professional development/continuing education) 

The application fee is:

  • $295.00 for NAPCP members testing in the U.S.
  • $395.00 for non-members/complimentary subscribers testing in the U.S.
  • $545.00 for NAPCP members testing outside the U.S.
  • $645.00 for non-members/complimentary subscribers testing outside the U.S.

Mail the forms, supporting documentation and payment to the NAPCP’s business partner, the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC):

Wait to hear from PTC concerning your eligibility. After the application period closes, PTC will e-mail eligibility notices to approved candidates. When receiving such a notice, you can schedule your exam.
