Benchmarking is a critical part of managing a P-Card and Travel Card program. It is an essential way to show your organization the value that these payment strategies can offer as well as a key method to garner management buy-in. Using analysis to identify opportunities, the workshop will offer strategies to effectively manage your Commercial Card program(s) and include tips on how to evaluate and optimize them.

This two-day educational workshop is dedicated to enhancing the benchmarking and program management knowledge of Commercial Card professionals. During the workshop, you will participate in an interactive presentation and participate in hands-on activities. We encourage participants to bring data on their program and a computer, so you can walk away with the finalized benchmarking and metrics customized to your program. We will practically apply the benchmarking strategies using real-world and industry-specific examples. Attendees will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas and will leave with all the tools necessary to advance their program. Key takeaway objectives are as follows:

Agenda—to be covered over the two-day workshop
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Review the business case for P-Card and Travel Cards from a cost savings perspective and provide strategies for ongoing review and communication for management buy-in.
  • Explain the difference between key performance indicators (KPI)/metrics and benchmarking.
  • Provide key program metrics to help you evaluate your P-Card program.
  • Define the types of benchmarking strategies and when to use them.
  • Compare your data to industry statistics, as well as other organizations attending the workshop, to see how your program benchmarks against others.

Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

  • Discuss how metrics can be used to elevate your card program to the next level.
  • Conduct a program infrastructure evaluation to ensure a solid foundation, including:
