Description

Is your organization researching the idea of starting a Purchasing Card (P-Card) program? Perhaps the decision to move forward has been made, but it’s unclear where to start. Maybe the program is already established, but you are seeking to learn more about the benefits and best utilization of P-Cards. Or, you want to explore ePayables and how they complement P-Cards. If you fall into one of these categories, attend this workshop to enhance your understanding of how P-Cards add value to a payment strategy and obtain the knowledge needed to move your program to a solid foundation with confidence.

Join Heather as we explore the following topics to help you build the successful program you desire. There also will be time dedicated to group discussions that will provide the opportunity for attendees to benefit from one another’s experience.

  • Define how/where P-Cards fit into a payment strategy and the related benefits, such as efficiency, cost savings, reporting, visibility into spend and more—what we call the value proposition.
  • Outline the ideal P-Card purchase-to-pay process to optimize the benefits.
Provide strategies to help to obtain organization buy-in and support of organization’s strategic goals.
  • Explore the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
  • Determine key controls for program infrastructure, including:

           - policies/procedures
           - role of the P-Card administrator or manager
           - determining controls/audits and expectations
           - distribution of cards

  • Provide strategies for training cardholders and approvers.
  • Discover applications for other types of Commercial Card solutions, including electronic payables.
  • Explain how electronic payables interact with P-Cards.
  • Discuss card acceptance with suppliers and the related benefits, including the fees, so you can engage in a meaningful dialogue and boost card acceptance.
Who Should Attend All end-users and providers are welcome.
  • For directors, vice presidents and executives, this course is all you’ll need for a solid P-Card knowledge base.
  • For program administrators, this course is a good spring board to future program management education.
  • For anyone new to P-Cards and/or ePayables, attending this session will help you more fully absorb content presented during the conference following the workshop.

CPCP Points Attending this workshop is good for (1) point toward CPCP initial eligibility or recertification.
