Diane McGuire, MBA, Managing Director, NAPCP
As part of its core mission, the NAPCP sponsors research and publishes timely and relevant white papers, survey results and other documents. Collaborating with our partners, we undertake these projects to support Commercial Card and Payment professionals working in the trenches, and the providers who serve them.

Diane will provide and update on the latest NAPCP initiatives and share insights from some of her favorite industry studies and NAPCP resources. Details will include:
-interactive review of the NAPCP website and resources–hear what projects are in the works and share your ideas for topics you'd like to see covered in greater detail
-excerpts from the latest projects that the NAPCP Advisory Teams have in the works: Corporate, Travel Card, Government and Higher Education
-overview and key takeaways from a few of Diane's favorite resources such as the NAPCP Fraud Prevention and Detection report and process and cost savings tools for P-Card

About the presenter:
Before forming the NAPCP in 2000, Diane McGuire implemented and managed Cargill's award-winning Purchasing Card Program. Diance has also held several financial manager positions within Cargill's business units. Diane received her undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and her MBA from Rutgers University. She is a frequent speaker on Commercial Card and related topics and is often a quoted source for print media.

-understand what a token is and how it can be used to increase security, reduce losses and retain needed data and workflow approval processes

About the presenter:
Brigit Stanley is the national director of automation at American Express. She joined American Express in 2007 as a director in the middle market segment, focused on Commercial Card products and services. During her leadership role in the middle market, she led teams responsible for solving client challenges by bringing them customizable products and services spanning from short-term working capital needs, Travel and Entertainment programs, to turning the AP department into a revenue-generating arm of the company. Over 10 years, Brigit grew a greater passion to solve for the emerging client demand to find ways to scale rebate programs while also solving for their internal need to drive efficiencies and automate processes. Today, she serves as the voice of the customer while driving the national strategy to deliver best-in-class platforms and customizable integration with virtually any ERP.

Key Supplier Acceptance Elements that Impact Purchasing Card Programs
Marnie Ochs-Raleigh, CEO, Evolve Systems
There is no doubt, the use and acceptance of P-Cards is incredibly important for organizations. There are two sides to each transaction, the issuing side and the acceptance side. In this session, we will explore the acceptance side of the P-Card transactions, how Level II and Level III data plays into the transaction and how surcharging is changing the payment landscape. Understanding supplier acceptance issues will allow you to better manage your program and enhance program results. Attendees will leave this session with an understanding of both sides of the transaction and how we can make the acceptance process easier for the transaction. This session will cover:
-difference in Level II and Level III processing
-the processing environments on the merchant side
-examples of the required data for the "perfect" transaction
-what surcharging is and how the registration process works for the merchant
-"why" P-Card purchasing happens and the payment optimization details that need to be provided to the merchant during the transactions payment

11:15 a.m. Blockchain: What It Is and Isn't
Angela Lawson, Senior Payment Coordinator, Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis
Even if your company isn't using a blockchain system, or ever planning to, you could be impacted by vendors or partners who do. Key to asking the right questions is knowing what it is and what it does. But what else do you need to know? This presentation will start with a brief overview of the technology. Then, we'll discuss the buzzwords used to describe the technology (think: secure and immutable) and how they can be misleading. You'll learn about a few payment-related use cases and develop ideas on how to think critically about what blockchain is and how the technology may impact you. As a result of this session, attendees will be able to:
-describe some of the features and functions of blockchain
-think critically about the language and functions to describe blockchain to separate hype from reality
-consider what problems blockchain does and does not solve
-understand some of the current applications under development today

About the presenter:
With 15 years' experience in banking and retail, Angela Lawson is the senior payment consultant for emerging technologies at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. She is the author of several published articles and white papers on blockchain and a frequent speaker on the topic. Angela currently serves as the convener of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) work group, developing an identifier and registration process for digital tokens.

ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems have evolved to include functionality that provides for cardholder reconciliation, approval routing and reporting through your ERP, verses using provider systems.

About the presenter:
Eric Sheehan has a degree in Accounting, with a strong background in Management Information Systems from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. He offers clients advice and expertise on how to add value to their businesses by leveraging technology to improve processes and overall performance which includes greater efficiencies and ultimately profitability for their businesses. 
Eric Sheehan joined OTT, Inc. in 1993 and is the CEO of OTT, Inc., a Microsoft Partner Network Gold Member and a NetSuite Solution Provider. OTT, Inc. works extensively with a number of complimentary solutions that cover automated AP, analytics, business intelligence, budgeting, cred card processing, document management, e-commerce, professional services automation (PSA) and warehouse automation.

1:45 p.m. Cut Through the Cacophony—What's Really Going On in B2B Payments
Frank B. Martien, Managing Director–Payments, Accenture Strategy
After some brief comments to align on current U.S. B2B payments trends, we will interactively explore several strategic questions for organizations:
-is the card payment model/industry healthy or under siege?
-we are seeing a lot more e-commerce (i.e. purchasing goods and services online) at our organization. How may this impact our ability to pay with cards, including supplier enablement?
-everyone tells me the world is automating, but how is this really relevant/practical within my organization? Where should I focus?

About the speaker:
Frank brings 23 years of B2B payments strategy experience with a specialization in Commercial Cards, including P-Card and ePayables. He is a frequent speaker at payments industry forums and has been quoted in numerous trade and national publications. Within the NAPCP community, Frank has co-authored three supplier acceptance surveys. Frank received an MBA in 1996 from The Darden School at the University of Virginia where he received the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence.

NAPCP CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you are unable to attend, please notify us as soon as possible. A partial refund will be issued for cancellations made more than one week prior to the start of the event. An administrative fee, equal to 50% of the registration fee, applies.
Registered delegates who do not attend or cancel less than one week prior to the event are liable for the entire fee. Cancellations must be in writing to heidi_kaliher@napcp.org.

PROGRAM CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS: The NAPCP reserves the right to make changes in programs and speakers or to cancel programs if enrollment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond its control prevail. The NAPCP will make every effort to contact each enrollee if a program is cancelled. If a program is not held for any reason, the NAPCP's liability is limited to the refund of the registration fee only.
