Heather Miller, CPCP, MBA, NAPCP Community Engagement Manager, will present a breakout session, “Commercial Card Fraud Prevention and Detection,” at the APP2P Conference and Expo, November 12-14, at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Heather is a seasoned presenter, and often leads NAPCP Regional Forums and workshops and has been an Annual Conference presenter. Be sure to check out Heather’s session. It will be offered twice: Tuesday 11/13/2018 at 1:15 p.m. and Wednesday 11/14/18 at 9:20 a.m.  While you’re at APP2P, stop by the NAPCP booth to chat with Heather and Event Manager Rachel Narveson. They’ll be waiting to meet you at Booth # 1102.

Session Description
Media reports of fraud related to the use of Commercial Cards tend to receive notable attention, while rarely does the general media cover the benefits of card payments. Publicity associated with fraudulent incidents could lead organizations to the conclusion that such crime is significant within card programs. In reality, industry research has revealed otherwise, repeatedly demonstrating that fraud/misuse is not the epidemic problem it is perceived to be. Nevertheless, real or perceived laxity of controls within a P-Card program can result in withdrawal of management support. This presentation is designed as a resource to help you minimize the potential for P Card fraud and misuse.

Topics include:

  • distinguishing between fraud and misuse
  • integrating fraud deterrents in program design
  • prevention and detection techniques
