First Annapolis Consulting Discusses EMV Implications in the Commercial Card Market

Thursday, November 5, 2015   (0 Comments)

First Annapolis Consulting recently discussed in their October 2015 edition of the Navigator, how although most of the EMV liability shift has focused on consumer card issuers and retailers, Commercial Card issuers have also been affected. As shown in the graph below, many card issuers were already offering EMV cards as early as April 2014, with many actually issuing them years prior. Early issuing was mainly due to the high frequency of international travel on Commercial Cards. The graph also indicates adoption date comparisons between April 2014 and October 2015 for magnetic stripe, EMV chip and PIN, and EMV chip and signature.
