New Update on the 2020 NAPCP Annual Conference

We appreciate your patience as we work through our options regarding our 2020 Annual Conference. After much consideration, we have decided not to reschedule the conference as an in-person event. It just isn’t feasible given so many uncertainties and the unprecedented increase in competition for venues that can accommodate us.

As we explore virtual prospects for 2020, we are excited by this new opportunity to develop a robust and interactive virtual experience for our community. While nothing can replace face-to-face interaction, we are committed to offering the next best thing: Keeping you safe while providing the education and networking you look forward to each year.

We are hard at work on this virtual option, as well as next steps for 2020 registrations and sponsorships. When we have firm details to share, we will provide them via email and on our website.

Thank you again for being patient throughout these extraordinary circumstances. We look forward to seeing you all again face-to face-when we gather for our 2021 conference.

New Update on the 2020 NAPCP Annual Conference

As we navigate through this time of uncertainty, we will continually update you as circumstances evolve. But first, we want to convey our wishes for strength and health during this unprecedented time.

This week, the governor of Nevada ordered all casinos in the state to close for thirty days. As a result, Caesars Palace has automatically cancelled all room reservations for thirty days, including the reservations you made in connection with our Annual Conference. Any prepayments you made to Caesars will be refunded within the next few days.

We’ve had numerous conversations with our stakeholders in the last few days. We are heartened by the response from our end-user and provider communities—despite your own challenges as individuals and organizations—to participate in countless ways to ensure our productivity as a community during this period of social distancing.

Social distancing and remote work will become the new normal for weeks to come. But this doesn’t change what we do, it just changes how we do it. Just as you are making logistical adjustments in your jobs and daily lives, we are determining the best ways to deliver our content, communicate thought leadership, and help you connect with each other.

The many meaningful conversations we are having with members, partners and others are guiding us into next steps, not just with our conference, but with what lays ahead for all of us in these unprecedented times.

Update on the 2020 NAPCP Annual Conference

We are grateful to the NAPCP community for continued support and patience as we navigate uncharted waters caused by the coronavirus. Our team is hard at work finding solutions to these unexpected and unfortunate circumstances.

We have been polling our audience and working with advisors and partners to evaluate next steps. Over the next few days, we will be creatively and aggressively exploring options. We are doing this with you, our stakeholders, in mind.

The NAPCP is committed to bringing you the education and networking opportunities you rely on to do your jobs, potentially in new ways. To that end, we are exploring all possibilities, from rescheduling the NAPCP Annual Conference to possibly making it a virtual event. We learned yesterday afternoon from public health officials that the world could be in a distancing mode for some time. We know that in the midst of this crisis you still need to be productive at work, and we are exploring the best ways to serve you in these unprecedented times.

2020 NAPCP Annual Conference Has Been Cancelled


After much deliberation and many conversations with our partners and advisors, the NAPCP has decided to cancel our Annual Commercial Card and Payment Conference, originally scheduled for April 6-9, 2020 in Las Vegas. This decision was not an easy one, but the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), along with recommendations from public health organizations, and the presidential declaration of a national emergency required us to take this drastic step. The most recent escalations of the coronavirus status impacted our decision:

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the coronavirus as a global pandemic
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has created guidelines advising community-based organizations to cancel gatherings of more than 250 people
  • On March 13, President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in the United States

We know how important our Annual Conference is to NAPCP members and subscribers, and to the hundreds of attendees, speakers, exhibitors and sponsors who have been preparing for and anticipating the event for months. Now that the decision has been made, we are starting to consider alternative methods of delivering the vital education and networking opportunities that the conference provides.

 

Thank you for your patience as we navigate the many details that need to be addressed following this significant decision. We are committed to working through the current situation as quickly as possible. Please note that attendees must cancel their own travel and hotel reservations directly. We suggest that you review reservation policies as soon as possible.

We will communicate regularly with you via email, and you may also visit this webpage for updates.

Like you, we are disappointed that circumstances required us to take this drastic action, but it was the only way to ensure the safety of the NAPCP community. We are grateful for the outpouring of support you have shown to us and to each other in the previous days. The NAPCP is a vibrant and generous community. We remain committed to serving you, just as we have for 20 years, with excellence and innovation. We will continue to tap into the knowledge and expertise of our 20,000 members and subscribers to move the payments industry and professionals forward.
